1. 图表类型:

Education Pays

For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay entitled Education Pays based on the statistics provided in the chart below (Unemployment rate in 2010).

As is shown in the chart above , the unemployment rate in American society remained high in 2010. Nonetheless, people with better educational background seemed to suffer less from unemployment. For example, the unemployment rates of people with doctoral, master ’s and bachelor’s degrees are 1.9%, 4.0%, and 5.4% respectively. However, 9.2% of individuals with some college education but no degree and 10.3% of individuals with only high school diploma cannot find a job. Worse still, the unemployment rate of people without a high school diploma even reached 14.9%.

In today ’s fierce job market, getting a suitable job is becoming increasingly difficult, not to mention a well-paid one. I am convinced that the crux of this disturbing problem lies in the fact that job hunters do not possess the skills or knowledge the employers need. Therefore, they always fail in the job interviews.

As we all know educational fees are high. Nevertheless, compared to the host of benefits education brings to students ’ future, they seem nothing. Education is a worthy investment in every way. In conclusion, education pays.

★ As can be seen from the table of educational investment , an increased tendency is clearly showed of unemployment rate in 2010 based on the level of students ’ degrees. It is extremely easy for the people with better educational background to get a job. For instance, the unemployment rate of people with doctoral degree is 1.9%. Nevertheless, 14.9% of people will be employed with less than a high school diploma. Moreover, the rates of unemployment of people with the diploma from master’s degree to high school diploma are obviously on the increase. (They are respectively 4.0%, 5.4%, 9.2%,10.3%; they are from 4.0% to 10.3%)
