My views on happiness
Since happiness has been a hotly discussed topic, more and more people are putting their opinion on its internal meaning.British dramatist G. Bernard Shaw once said that happiness is the man who is living by his hobby. While American great president Franklin Roosevelt thought Happiness lies not in the mere possession of money;it lies in the joy of achievement,in the thrill of creative effort. When it comes to me about what is the true happiness,I would rather take Abraham Lincoln ’s view that most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.
Indeed, happiness has thousands of appearances. When I was a freshman in the university,I took part in a contest, relating to English. For the next three days,I was completely absorbed in the world of English-novels,exams,speeches,songs,all of it bringing me excitement, surprise and enjoyment. The feeling of thoroughly concentrating on something I was interested in was the most wonderful experience.Everyone has an equal chance to make fairy-tales come true,as well as get the happiness that is already ready for us.The only thing I need to do is take the first step, make every effort to pursue what I heartily want and stick to it.Actually, very little is needed to make a happy life.It is all within myself,in my way of acting,in my own way of thinking. Some people
go through life pleased that the glass is half full.Others spend a lifetime complaining that it is half-empty.The truth is:There is a glass with a certain volume of liquid in it.From there,it’s up to you! In fact, happiness is not a hard thing to obtain, though it is precious. It is the attitude we take toward our life.It is the way we treat others surrounding us.And above all,it is the choice we make to behave.
