Ⅱ Overview
The 12th Five-year Period is a crucial stage for building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way, a hard-battle period for deepening the reform and opening up process while accelerating the transformation of the nation ’s economic development pattern, also is an important stage for Chinese bicycle industry to achieve structure restructuring and transformation and upgrading. Therefore, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Development Research Center of the State Council and State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council will jointly host the “2012 China (Beijing) Electric Bicycle and Bicycle Exhibition ” from Oct.17th to Oct.19th in Beijing, China International Exhibition Center (Sanyuan Bridge).
China is the world’s largest producer, exporter and consumer, with the rapid improvement of people's livelihoods, bike and electric bike is very popular because of its healthy, low-carbon, energy-efficiency and convenience. According to the statistics of NBS, the number of bicycle has reached 450 million in 2006 and the total number of electric bicycle has exceeded 100 million in 2010. Bike and e-bike has become an important transportation vehicle for residents’ daily travel, entertainment and fitness, an important symbol of low-carbon and healthy life. In order to build a platform for the development of the industry and with the show concept of “Promote the low-carbon life to protect the living environment ”, this show will set up three special areas such as the bicycle area, electric bicycle area and bike parts area to fully present the latest products and technical achievements in the industry.
Ⅲ Background
In recent years, with the accelerating progress of urbanization in China, the electric bike has become an important means of transport for people to go out with its economy and convenience character. In 2011, the number of e-bike has increased to 150 million in China, and the e-bike, as the revolutionary means of transport in the history of bike, not only brought people the convenience but also made contribute to reduce the energy consumption and achieve the energy-efficiency in China with its environmental protection, low energy and pollution-free.
At present, it is the trend for policy adjustment from “forbidden ” to “limit ” and then to
“release ”, and Beijing is bound to usher in the development opportunity in the electric vehicle industry. Meanwhile the concept of it is too expensive to buy a car and take taxi for many times, also is tired to take a bus has driven the workers and rural residents to choose the e-bike to go out. Therefore, this show with its good timing, geographical convenience and good human relations, will endeavor to build the interactive platform for the e-bike manufacturers and enterprises, to guide the potential demand and to create the unlimited business opportunity.
